Though young, David has almost lived two entirely separate lives. Before New York, before his current... hobby - slash - occupation. He was a healthy, normal teenager who had just graduated high school and started in college. He had a charming girlfriend and a charming future. David's mutation cropped up very late in his life. He was almost 19 and he suddenly found himself with a power, and this power happened to wipe his girlfriend and parents' memory completely away when it arrived.

David ditched town. He wasn't sticking around for that. He started using his powers for practise. First, he wiped a few memories just to see if he could. Little things, like making his neighbour forget where he had left the mower, or making a cop forget that he had been speeding. And then, it hit him, that this was a money maker. David made his way to New York City, and he started with small crimes to make a living. Really, David was a professional punk -- robberies and wiping shop keeper's memories, running a fake ID business with the help of calculators and shady friends.

With more of that fancy memory erasing of his, David made his way into Columbia university. He had started late, so despite being in his mid-twenties, he is still an undergraduate student, but he is still on his way to someday earning a legitimate living. Only it's not so legitimate, because he screws up a lot and still has to erase memories. Oh well.
